Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, is the birthplace of our nation. Founded by William Penn in 1682, it was the second largest English-speaking city in the world just before the American Revolution. Philadelphia also hosted the First and Second Continental Congress, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted, as well as the Constitutional Convention.
Philadelphia served as our nation's capital until 1800.Today, Philadelphia is still alive with history and culture. From hallowed historical sites to modern museums, from celebrated historical figures to modern day heroes, come see what Philadelphia has to offer.
