Founded in 1849, Sacramento
was California's first charter city. From the gold rush
to the Pony Express and first continental railroad, Sacramento
is at the heart of California history. Sacramento provides
insights to the California experience and creates an awareness
of the courage and contributions made by various ethnic
groups in settling this great state.
